During the meeting, Lieberman accused Golan: "You are serving Netanyahu's campaign. Stop talking about evacuating settlements and about a Palestinian state." Golan replied: "Our statements are not extreme, not even in their wording, but we will speak clearly. We are not just another right-wing party." Since then, there has been a rift between the two. In the opposition, criticism is leveled at the publicized conflict between the two party leaders, saying that with too many leaders, no one is managing the bloc. Last night, Lieberman attacked Golan and said that his silence would be "the greatest contribution to our victory." When asked if he would agree that members of the Democratic faction would receive the defense, internal security, or justice portfolios, he replied that this is "unacceptable." In response to Lieberman's remarks, Golan wrote on his X account: "It's time to stop serving Netanyahu's incitement campaign. Orich says the Democrats are illegitimate because he wants to erase mandates from the change bloc. Instead of playing 'Orich said,' it's time to stop echoing his messages." The Democratic chairman concluded: "We can fight now and give Netanyahu another term. Or we can work as a bloc, win, and then argue in the government."
