The Israeli occupation authorities released 35 Palestinians, including paramedic Waseem al-Mughari, who was abducted by what the report described as "client militias" from central Gaza while heading to perform his work in treating the wounded, and held for about 65 days before being handed over to the occupation. The International Committee of the Red Cross transferred the released from the Kerem Shalom crossing east of Rafah to Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, where their families received them with scenes of embraces, tears, ululations, and takbirs. The list included 32 Palestinian workers who were detained in the occupied territories and the West Bank, along with three prisoners. Waseem's father confirmed that his son is an ambulance driver and does not belong to any faction, and that the family was unable to know his place of detention or communicate with him throughout the period. Among the released was also Ahmed Abu Fayyad from the Shujaiya neighborhood, who lost his son during the war and lived in Ramallah for three years before deciding to return to Gaza. Red Cross spokesperson Amani al-Na'ouq confirmed that the committee has been unable to access detainees in occupation prisons since October 2023, and renewed its call to be allowed to reach them.
