Regev Amar, a paratrooper from Battalion 101 of the 'Red Brigade' who was killed on October 7 in battles at Kibbutz Kissufim, discovered that unknown individuals desecrated the Israeli flag flying over his grave three times within a week at the cemetery in Kibbutz Sde Nehemia. The mother recounted that last Wednesday she noticed an attempt to lower the flag, and the next day the flag disappeared and the pole was broken. She linked this to the 'Bein HaZmanim' period, when the Banias fills with thousands of Haredi hikers. On Tuesday, a kibbutz member informed her that the flag had been torn to shreds. The mother said: 'My heart broke, I stood by Regev's grave and cried.' She added: 'A red line has been crossed here by the Haredim... we will not stoop to their level.' Kibbutz members mobilized to replace any flag that is taken down. The mother described her son as someone who continued fighting even after being seriously wounded, telling his comrades, 'Don't come near me... save yourselves.'
