University heads warn that the law undermines the foundation of higher education, harming scientific excellence and the status of Israeli academia worldwide. According to them, advanced degree studies require professional interaction with the broader scientific community, including joint lab teams, conference participation, and collaborations with researchers of both sexes. Forcing gender segregation means disconnecting from the scientific community and forfeiting leading researchers solely due to their gender, leading to inferior training and harming graduates' ability to integrate into global industry. Earlier this week, the High Court rejected the petitioners' request for a conditional order to freeze the law.
