He will remain under house arrest with an electronic bracelet at the Skaugum estate until September 7. The prosecution, which initially did not object to his release, changed its position last Friday before the hearing, citing risks of repeated violent crimes. The defense had hoped for a relaxation of the measure so that Høiby could be near his mother, who recently underwent a lung transplant operation. Høiby, who participated in the hearing remotely, stated that he had impeccably complied with the supervision conditions and expressed bewilderment. He is allowed to leave the estate for studies, work, medical care, and visits to sick relatives. The case is related to a four-year prison sentence handed down in June last year, which is being appealed by both sides.
