A comprehensive investigation by News 14, led by analyst Ronen Solomon, reveals that Iran has built a massive underground nuclear facility in Mount Machkush, south of Natanz. The facility is carved at a depth of 80 to 140 meters within a mountain range, deeper than the Fordow site, and includes an extensive system of tunnels, underground halls, and three entrances. Work began as early as 2007, but Iran declared the project only more than a decade later. IAEA inspectors have never visited the site. According to reports, Iran has transferred thousands of centrifuges and possibly stocks of enriched uranium to Mount Machkush. The facility was designed from the outset as a larger, deeper, and more complex compound that is much harder to destroy, representing the next generation of Iran's defense concept. The questions troubling the intelligence community are when Iran actually began the concealment project, whether its true purpose is broader than official declarations, and where the enriched uranium stockpile is located today.
