UN Ambassador Danny Danon: Iran regime 'will not do any good' for Middle East, Israel

Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Danon stated that Iran's regime will not benefit the Middle East or Israel, accusing Iran of violating its MoU with the US and choosing terrorism. He criticized the UN for not designating Hamas a terror group and condemned New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani for inciting violence, linking his rhetoric to a stabbing attack.

Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, stated on Tuesday that Iran's current regime will not benefit the Middle East or Israel. Speaking to 103FM and later to reporters, Danon accused Iran of violating its Memorandum of Understanding with the United States and continuing to choose terrorism over negotiations. He claimed Iran blocks the Strait of Hormuz and launches ballistic missiles at 12 Middle Eastern countries daily. Danon also criticized the United Nations Security Council for failing to designate Hamas as a terrorist organization, calling Hamas the main obstacle to implementing President Trump's 20-point plan for Gaza. He described the UN as "not relevant" under Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Additionally, Danon condemned New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani for inciting violence, linking the mayor's threat to arrest Prime Minister Netanyahu to a subsequent stabbing of a Jew near a synagogue. Danon posted on X that the US-Israel alliance is an anchor of stability in the Middle East.
