Ukraine has denied the authenticity of a staged video containing threats to Iran, calling it a provocation. The incident comes amid cooling relations after an attack on ships in the Caspian Sea. Ukraine's Foreign Minister held talks with his Iranian counterpart.
A staged video has circulated online showing unidentified individuals in military uniform with Ukrainian flags and concealed faces insulting Iranians and threatening to destroy ships. Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially denied the authenticity of the footage, calling it a fabricated provocation. Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhiy Tykhyi emphasized on X that the staging was created to artificially escalate international tensions. This disinformation appeared amid cooling relations between Kyiv and Tehran following an incident in the Caspian Sea, when two vessels traveling between Russia and Iran were struck. Tehran stated that one of the ships belonged to the Iranian side and a sailor died on board, after which threats of retaliation began to be heard from Iran. Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held talks with his Iranian counterpart to resolve the diplomatic tension. The author claims that the use of staged recordings and AI technologies has become a key tool of Russian propaganda to undermine international support for Ukraine. Earlier it was reported that the US and Israel are preparing a strike on Iran, and Kuwait activated its air defense to intercept missiles.
