The Tolyattikauchuk plant produces synthetic rubber, monomers, and high-octane fuel components. The facility has been operating since 1961, has been part of the Tatneft group since 2019, and supplies about a quarter of the Russian synthetic rubber market. About 70% of its products are exported, including to the US, Europe, and Asia. Some of the products are used to manufacture solid fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles of Russia, making the plant part of the military-industrial complex despite its formally civilian profile.
