The Tzomet and Beit Yisrael parties have announced a political merger ahead of the upcoming elections under the name 'The Third Camp on the Right'. Tzomet, led by Moshe Green, was founded in 1983 by former IDF Chief of Staff Rafael 'Raful' Eitan and grew out of the labor settlement movement, moshavim, and kibbutzim. Beit Yisrael, founded by Gadi Yebarkan, defines itself as a social-economic right-wing party. The merger seeks to offer the Israeli right a path combining security and nationalism with social and economic responsibility, strengthening settlement and agriculture, equal opportunity, and care for working citizens, veterans, and youth. The MILA organization (Reservists for the People), led by Nitzan Elimelech, is also joining. According to party leaders, the third camp does not seek to be another sectoral party but a broad political home for a right-wing and Zionist public. The party's launch conference will take place on Monday, August 31, 2026, in Petah Tikva. The joint platform will include strengthening security and governance, rehabilitating agriculture and settlement, food security, reducing the cost of living, narrowing gaps, strengthening the periphery, and improving the status of veteran citizens.
