Police announced today (Monday) that they solved the incident in which a fragmentation grenade was thrown at a 'Japanika' branch in Kiryat Ono last month. An 18-year-old Bat Yam resident was arrested about two days after the incident, and a few days later a 22-year-old suspect, also a resident of the city, was arrested. Searches were conducted in their homes, and findings and clothing items linking them to the offense were seized. According to a police statement, a prosecutor's statement was filed against the two suspects. The investigation revealed that on July 13, the two suspects arrived at the scene at 2:00 AM riding a two-wheeled vehicle, threw the fragmentation grenade at the entrance to the business, and fled. According to police, the background to the incident is a dispute between criminals. Investigators of the central unit managed to trace the suspects and locate their identities, despite their attempts to cover their tracks. On the day of the incident, eight additional branches of the food chain were damaged as part of the conflict between the Jerushi and Mosly crime organizations, most of them franchised to the Jerushis. The franchise was granted to the Jerushis by the chain's owners, businessman and Beitar Jerusalem owner Barak Abramov. A source close to Abramov then told Kan News: "Barak made a mistake by bringing the Jerushis into his business. We won't go into the reasons, the bottom line is that it's turning on him and he is the main victim of this madness in recent days."
