Two and a half months before the elections: police elections project manager resigns

Pinto was appointed to the position after being dismissed from his role as Sharon District commander following his conduct during the murder of Yamen Zalka in Petah Tikva. This was reported this evening (Wednesday) by police affairs commentator Moshe Steinmetz on the i24NEWS main edition. Pinto was appointed to the position by the Commissioner of Police, after being dismissed from his role as Sharon District commander in the Central District. The dismissal came following criticism from the Central District commander about his conduct during the murder of Yamen Zalka in Petah Tikva, when he did not arrive at the murder scene and was defined as out of contact. Pinto was summoned for an interview with the district commander but did not show up, and subsequently announced urgent leave with no return date. Pinto was considered close to Commissioner Danny Levy until the criticism was leveled against him.
