Turning Pain into Action: New Youth Center Established in Beitar Illit in Memory of Rabbi Tzvi Kogan, May God Avenge His Blood

A year after the murder of emissary Tzvi Kogan in the United Arab Emirates, a synagogue and youth center were inaugurated in Beitar Illit in his memory. The ceremony was attended by city rabbis, public figures, and hundreds of teenagers, and included a chalaka for the son of Rabbi Deutsch and a donation of tefillin from Border Police fighters.

A year after the murder of Chabad emissary Tzvi Kogan in the United Arab Emirates, a new synagogue and youth center were inaugurated in Beitar Illit in his memory, named "Migdal Or - Synagogue and Youth Center - Beit Tzvi." The place, which began as a tefillin stand initiated by emissary Rabbi Pinny Deutsch, has become a permanent home for teenagers and the community. The inauguration and mezuzah affixing ceremony was attended by city rabbis, public figures, and hundreds of teenagers. A moving moment occurred when Tzvi's father, Rabbi Alexander Sender HaCohen Kogan, spoke about the divine providence in choosing the location. Concurrently, a chalaka ceremony was held for Rabbi Deutsch's son, symbolizing the continuity of life. Border Police fighters donated an exquisite pair of tefillin to one of the community's boys. The center is expected to operate all weekdays and on Shabbat, as a warm home and spiritual lighthouse.
