Prince Harry, in his memoirs "Spare," called Alderton "the wasp" and described his central role in discussions surrounding Harry and Meghan's departure from royal duties. Alderton joined the royal household 20 years ago and will remain in his post until his 60th birthday in May 2027. A palace spokesperson said the King and Queen are grateful for his support. Alderton receives an annual salary package of £300,000-305,000.
