According to a report in the Lebanese newspaper 'Al-Nahar', Lebanese President Joseph Aoun is advancing discussions with Hezbollah on transferring its heavy weapons, including missiles and drones, to Iran, in Turkish-Iranian coordination and in parallel with a full Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon. Light and medium weapons may remain with the organization in the first stage, with their fate to be decided later. Hezbollah has not yet given a response to the proposal and is awaiting developments in the negotiations between the US and Iran, including on the issue of the Strait of Hormuz. Turkey is ready to join the arrangement but conditions it on coordination with Iran. Israel has not yet agreed to the deployment of an international force to monitor the border. The two central issues remain open: a full Israeli withdrawal and Hezbollah's response.
