Tehran earlier stressed the strait will remain under Iran's control, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the question of talks with Washington is unresolved.

According to him, US bases will not be able to restore their former position, as Iran does not intend to allow their return. Hatami called the Strait of Hormuz 'sacred' and a 'geopolitical advantage granted by God to the Iranian people', adding that one of the 'legacies' of the US president is revealing the strait's potential, which 'would not have been realized without this conflict'. He also noted that this advantage is seen as one of the conditions for ending the war and eliminating the threat to Iran. Earlier, 'Kursor' reported that Tehran stressed the strategic sea route will remain under Iran's control, and the decision to open or close the strait will be made solely by the Iranian leadership. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran has not yet decided on resuming talks with Washington.
