A Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted over four days shows that U.S. President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to 33%, matching the record low of December 2017. 64% of respondents express disagreement with the White House's course. The key factor is the fear of a prolonged war with Iran: 80% of those surveyed consider the conflict long-term, with 87% of Democrats and 71% of Republicans sharing this pessimism. Only 16% expect a quick end to hostilities. For the first time in ten years, Democrats have overtaken Republicans in economic trust (38% vs 35%). The gap on immigration policy has narrowed from 26 percentage points in January 2025 to 2 points (40% vs 38%). The poll was conducted among 1,166 adult U.S. citizens, with a margin of error of about 3 percentage points. Rising gasoline prices due to disrupted supplies through the Strait of Hormuz have hit family budgets ahead of the midterm elections.
