Tropper rejected Netanyahu's promises, saying: 'There is no limit to cynicism.' He listed the consequences of the war: nearly three years of war, 966 fallen IDF soldiers, 24,000 wounded, hundreds of thousands of reserve call-ups. According to him, the premier 'repeatedly refused to pass a real draft law and sided with the Haredim against the army's position.' Tropper highlighted the gap between current statements and Netanyahu's previous actions, accusing him of inaction. He concluded with a harsh assessment: 'He simply cannot be trusted.' Former minister Gadi Eisenkot joined the criticism. He stated that the premier 'continues to be characterized by fleeing responsibility and fear,' fearing the consequences of his failures, not being re-elected, and a commission of inquiry. Eisenkot noted that Netanyahu 'just two weeks ago passed a contemptible draft-dodging law that weakens the IDF and Israeli society.' He added that the public 'will not buy into a new political maneuver dictated by fear of polls.' Eisenkot emphasized: 'For four years you have obstructed a real draft law. You single-handedly strengthened the draft dodgers and deserters at the expense of those who serve.' In conclusion, he promised that in the government they will form, a real draft law will be passed.
