Tried to Murder Jews at the Airport – Killed in Ukraine

Omar Zhanboruoyev, convicted of participating in the antisemitic riot at Makhachkala airport in 2023, was killed in fighting in Ukraine. He was sentenced in June 2025 to prison, enlisted in the Russian army to 'atone for his actions', and was one of seven involved who enlisted; five survived. The riots occurred on October 29, 2023, 30 security personnel were attacked, 23 were injured, and 142 suspects were indicted.

He was sentenced in June 2025 to five to six years and eight months in prison, after joining the mob that broke into the airport searching for passengers arriving from Israel. Last January, he published a video in which he announced he had signed a military contract to change his lifestyle and atone for his actions, explaining that his goal was to show support for Palestinians, but he caused damage to his homeland. According to Shvedil Hadulayev, chairman of the Council of Civil Society Organizations in Dagestan, this is another rioter killed in fighting, with five of the seven involved who enlisted in the Russian army remaining alive, one of them seriously wounded. The previous case of a fatality among the riot participants was Muhammad Said Murtazaliev, buried in January. The riots occurred on October 29, 2023, against the backdrop of the outbreak of the war in Gaza, when hundreds of rioters broke into the airport. 30 security personnel and police officers were attacked, and 23 were injured. The Russian Investigative Committee filed charges against 142 suspects.
