Tried to Flee Police – Caught with Over 2 kg of Cocaine
Three 22-year-old men were arrested last night (Monday) after more than two kilograms of a substance suspected to be cocaine were found in their car. One suspect tried to flee from police, first by car and then on foot, but was caught after a chase near the Beit Kama junction. A search found two cocaine slabs weighing about 2.2 kg in total, about 14 grams of ecstasy, and five cell phones. The three, residents of the Bedouin diaspora and Tel Sheva, were transferred for questioning and jailed.

During the night, police forces, including the Southern District's YMR, National Guard fighters, and Sahr, conducted a targeted operation following a suspicion of drug possession. As part of the operation, officers blocked the path of the suspect vehicle. According to police, the driver tried to escape, hit another car during his flight, then stopped the car and fled on foot. Officers chased the suspect and managed to arrest him near the Beit Kama junction. Two other suspects remained in the car and were also arrested. A search of the car found two slabs of a substance suspected to be cocaine weighing about 2.2 kg in total. In addition, about 14 grams of a substance suspected to be ecstasy and five cell phones were seized. The three suspects, aged 22, residents of the Bedouin diaspora and Tel Sheva, were transferred for questioning at the Be'er Sheva station and jailed at the end. Today they are expected to be brought to court, where police will ask to extend their detention. The case joins a similar chase that occurred in the south last February. Then, Rahat station officers spotted a suspicious vehicle on Route 40 and began a chase toward Lehavim. During the flight, the driver threw three packages containing about three kilograms of cocaine from the car. He was arrested after police set up a roadblock, and later an indictment was filed against him for drug possession and obstruction of investigation.
