Tragedy in Mexico: 4-Year-Old Shalom Drowns in Hotel Pool

Shalom Seginer, a 4-year-old boy from Jerusalem, drowned on Saturday in a hotel pool in San José del Cabo, Mexico. The child, grandson of Rabbi Shalom Arush, fell into the pool during a family vacation. ZAKA is assisting the family, and efforts to bring his body to Israel are ongoing.

Shalom Seginer, a 4-year-old boy from Jerusalem, drowned on Saturday in a hotel pool in San José del Cabo, Mexico. The child fell into the pool while on vacation with his family. He was the grandson of Rabbi Shalom Arush, one of the leading rabbis of the Breslov Hasidic movement in Israel and head of the 'Chut Shel Chesed' institutions for returnees to Judaism. Upon receiving the report, ZAKA's international unit began working with Mexican authorities and assisting the family. In Mexico, an autopsy was requested, but the procedure was avoided and his body was released. ZAKA is working to complete the procedures and bring the body to Israel for burial. The Israeli embassy in Mexico is also assisting with flight arrangements.
