Tomer Klifi and Gal Yosef Killed in Accident: 75-Year-Old Woman Charged with Their Deaths

A serious indictment was filed against Helen Sahyik, 75, from Moledet, for negligent homicide of two Border Police fighters, Tomer Eliyahu Klifi and Gal Yosef, in a fatal road accident on Highway 90. According to the indictment, the accused drove her car, entered an intersection against a stop sign and stop line, turned left into the path of the motorcyclists, and caused a high-impact collision. Both were killed at the scene. Tomer's father, Ilan Klifi, said in an interview that his son served as a Border Police fighter in the Erez sector, and a week before the accident received command of his team. He criticized the prosecution for taking 11 months to file the indictment, and shared shock at the claim by the driver's lawyer that the two wanted to commit suicide—a claim the judge rebuked. Ilan emphasized that both were skilled riders, and that Gal had married three weeks before the disaster and Tomer served as his best man.
