During the searches, the officers discovered a burial cave and ancient artifacts that were beneath a structure. Professional officials from the Israel Antiquities Authority who arrived at the site determined in an initial examination that the tombs date back to the Second Temple period. Police and Border Police forces are securing the scene in coordination with the Israel Antiquities Authority for further handling of the findings.
