A 30-year-old Be'er Sheva resident is accused of abusing and neglecting her two minor daughters. According to the indictment, she used to lock her daughters in their room from evening until morning, and they would knock on the door for a long time without her opening it. Additionally, the older daughter attacked her younger sister on about 20 occasions while the mother stayed in her room and did not intervene. As part of renovations in the apartment, the mother and her partner sawed part of the iron bars of the balcony railing, leaving a significant gap. At the beginning of the month, while the mother was in her room, the girls opened the sliding door and went out to the balcony. After about half a minute, the younger daughter, about two and a half years old, fell from the third floor and was injured. Her older sister left the apartment, picked her up, and carried her back. The toddler was hospitalized for 12 days with fractures in her thigh and pelvis, liver damage, and a collapsed lung.
