Tnuva returns popular product to stores - prices revealed
Tnuva has resumed butter supplies to Shufersal after a partial resolution of a price dispute. In most stores, the price increase was lower than the requested 4.8%, and in some chains prices remained unchanged. The best deal is at Carrefour, where a package costs 7.90 shekels.
Tnuva, Israel's largest dairy producer, has resumed butter supplies to Shufersal after a temporary suspension. The conflict arose because Shufersal refused to accept the price increase proposed by Tnuva before the Shavuot holiday. After the product returned to shelves, the price of butter rose in some stores, but in most cases the increase was lower than the 4.8% requested by Tnuva. Rami Levy, Yochananof, and Osher Ad kept prices unchanged, while the most favorable offer remains at Carrefour. At the same time, some retail chains increased the price by more than 11%. The product in question is a 200-gram package of butter. For comparison, data from the Pricez app on the product's price in major retail chains was used. Prices were compared in April, before the dispute began, and in August after supplies resumed. At Shufersal Universe, the price rose by 10 agorot, from 9.80 to 9.90 shekels, about 1%. At Shufersal Express, the package went up from 10.40 to 10.90 shekels, about 4.8%. At Shufersal Sheli, the price increased from 10.30 to 10.70 shekels, a 3.9% rise. At Shufersal Deal and the Shufersal Online store, the price remained unchanged at 9.90 shekels. Not all chains raised the price. At Victory Online, Yochananof City, and Rami Levy HaShchuna, the product still costs 9.90 shekels. Carrefour City kept the price between 10.30 and 10.50 shekels. At Rami Levy's online store, butter is still sold for 9.80 shekels, and at Yochananof for 9.50. At Osher Ad and regular Rami Levy stores, the price remained at 8.90 shekels. The best deal is at Carrefour stores participating in the 'Cheap Basket of Israel' program. At Carrefour Hyper, Carrefour Market, Carrefour Mehadrin, and Carrefour Online, a package of Tnuva butter costs 7.90 shekels, and this price has also not changed. Earlier, Kursor reported that Tnuva said it was preparing for a significant increase in demand. The situation is complicated by the call-up of dozens of its employees for reserve duty, including workers in production and transportation units.
