Three scenarios of NATO's response to Russia's attack – details from Bild

NATO is developing three response scenarios to a potential Russian attack, reports BILD. The strategies, based on the new Land Combat Concept, include creating an autonomous drone zone on the borders, suppressing air defenses including Kaliningrad, and moving operations into Russian territory to destroy logistics. The goal is to push back forces, not seize territories.

The North Atlantic Alliance is developing three key scenarios for a direct military clash with Russia, reports BILD. The command has prepared strategies to defend the Baltic states — Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The measures are based on NATO's new Land Combat Concept, developed under the leadership of American Major Andrew Pingree. The first phase envisions a tough response to combined missile and drone strikes followed by a tank offensive. To neutralize the threat, NATO fighters and missile systems must suppress enemy air defenses, including facilities in Kaliningrad. Along the borders with Russia and Belarus, an autonomous zone staffed with combat drones without infantry is planned. The next stage moves combat operations into Russian territory: special forces, supported by Russian citizens opposing the regime, must destroy key logistics arteries — airfields, railway hubs, bridges, and weapons factories. For this, the alliance intends to use the 'air bridge' concept, delivering drones and robotics by aircraft deep into enemy territory. Military leadership emphasizes that the ultimate goal is not territorial conquest but the forced pushback of advancing forces. NATO deliberately does not keep plans secret, as deterrence works when the Kremlin knows in advance the scale of the retaliatory strike.
