Three countries: Israel's closure of investigation into targeting of 'World Central Kitchen' convoy is shameful

Britain, Australia, and Canada described the Israeli occupation army's decision to close the investigation into the targeting of the 'World Central Kitchen' convoy in Gaza on April 1, 2024, which resulted in the martyrdom of 7 of its employees, as shameful. The three countries affirmed that the attack is only one of countless incidents for which no one has been held accountable, and urged the occupation to comply with international humanitarian law.

Britain, Australia, and Canada, in a joint statement on Friday, described the Israeli occupation army's decision to close the investigation into the attack that targeted a convoy of the 'World Central Kitchen' organization in the Gaza Strip on April 1, 2024, as shameful. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of 7 aid workers, including British, Australian, and a Canadian-American citizen. The three countries affirmed that they have consistently pressured Israel to investigate the case and hold those responsible accountable, but the army's announcement two days ago to close the investigation without explanation is shameful. They noted that the timing of the announcement on World Humanitarian Day makes it particularly heinous and egregious. The countries pointed out that this decision came too late and was insufficient, and that the victims and their families deserve justice. They stressed that the attack on the convoy is only one of countless incidents in Gaza for which no one has been held accountable. The three countries urged the occupation government to comply with its obligations under international humanitarian law and ensure the safety of aid workers. The statement indicated that Gaza remains the most dangerous place in the world for delivering humanitarian aid, with 186 humanitarian workers killed last year.
