Thousands of Israelis to Receive Payments — Check Your Bank Account

Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) is disbursing benefits and payments to hundreds of thousands of citizens in several stages in August. First, on August 12, unemployment and subsistence allowances will be paid. Child allowances will arrive on August 20, and the remaining payments on August 27. The reporting deadline for the self-employed has been postponed to August 16. The average benefit amount has increased by 2.64% to about 5,280 shekels.

In August, Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) continues its monthly payments to hundreds of thousands of citizens entitled to state benefits. Payments are made to bank accounts in several stages. First, on Wednesday, August 12, unemployment benefits and subsistence allowances are transferred. Separately, a deadline is set for filing reports and paying insurance contributions for the self-employed and employers: originally August 15, but since that date falls on Saturday, the final day will be August 16. Child allowances will be paid on August 20. The remaining major payments—to veterans, survivors of breadwinners, disability, children with disabilities, special services for people with severe disabilities, mobility, compensation for work injuries, alimony, rehabilitation, care, and prisoners of war—will be transferred on August 28, but since that date falls on Friday, payments will be made a day earlier, on Thursday, August 27. During the same period, payments to victims of hostilities are expected. The Institute reported an increase in the average benefit amount since the beginning of 2026 by 2.64% due to the rise in the consumer price index; the average payment is about 5,280 shekels.
