According to him, current events indicate a return to the diplomatic course that the American president previously made a key direction of his policy. Hayman noted that reports of Patriot system reductions and leaks about US capabilities to strike again are likely linked to the decision to return to the negotiating table. Commenting on potential military escalation, he pointed to Iran's particular sensitivity to territorial issues, stating that any ground operation would undermine the foundations of their security zone perceptions. At the same time, the expert emphasized that such a scenario is currently unlikely, as the US is not ready to embark on this adventure. He paid special attention to the American negotiation strategy, noting that Washington underestimates the role of ideology and religion in Iran, and that economic negotiations will not force Iranians to abandon their ideology. Hayman added that this factor is almost absent from the US strategic assessment.
