A ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth poll of 509 reservists, conducted on August 19, 2026 by the Dialog Institute, paints a sharp political picture: about 70% of respondents say the government's handling of the Haredi conscription issue greatly or very greatly influences their voting decision. Only 14% noted little or no influence. Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party leads with about 19% of the vote, Likud with about 13% only, and Naftali Bennett's Yashar with about 10%. The most worrying figure for Likud: only 34% of the party's 2022 voters in the reserves would definitely vote for it again, and 11% are moving to Eisenkot. About 63% of reservists support sweeping conscription of Haredim. Alongside the poll, the newspaper convened ten representatives of reservist organizations for an open conversation, and most agreed on the need to expand mandatory service, while disagreeing on service for non-Jews.
