'This is not your land': Indictment against 16-year-old for threats and assault with racist motive

The State Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against a 16-year-old boy from Beitar Illit for threats, assault with a racist motive, and animal cruelty. According to the indictment, the teen entered a residential compound in the southern Hebron Hills, threatened the complainants, telling them this is not their land, pushed one of them, and tried to hit a dog with a pipe.

The State Prosecutor's Office today (Tuesday) filed an indictment with the Be'er Sheva District Youth Court against a 16-year-old boy from Beitar Illit, charging him with threats, assault with a racist motive, and animal cruelty. A request for detention until the end of proceedings was also filed. According to the indictment, submitted by attorney Mas'ad Mas'ad from the Southern District Prosecutor's Office, on several occasions the minor entered the complainants' residential compound in the southern Hebron Hills, walked around holding a metal stick, terrorized them, and told them this is not their land and they must leave the place, allegedly due to a racist motive because they are Arabs. It also emerges that about two months ago, the minor arrived at the place riding a donkey, entered the compound, pushed one of the female complainants, knowing his actions could also harm a child she was holding, and threatened others present. Additionally, after leaving, he tried to hit the complainants' dog with a pipe on its head, and on one occasion struck it, causing the dog to fall to the ground and yelp. The indictment attributes to the minor assault with a racist motive, threats with a racist motive, attempted harm to an animal with a nationalist motive, and animal cruelty. The case was investigated by the Yehuda and Hebron police station.
