“This is not something you do live on air; if the defense minister has a problem, he should call him in for clarification”

MK Avi Maoz, chairman of the Noam party, criticized in an interview with Radio North 104.5FM the live dismissal of a major general, and called on the defense minister to hold a clarification conversation with the Chief of Staff. He said the military is acting against the political echelon, and that matters should be settled behind closed doors. Additionally, he addressed a possible alliance with Religious Zionism and Otzma Yehudit, and the integration of Haredim into the IDF, calling for the establishment of additional brigades like the Hashmonaim Brigade.

MK Avi Maoz, chairman of the Noam party, said in an interview with Radio North 104.5FM that dismissing a sitting major general live on air is something you don't do, and if the defense minister has a problem, he should call him in for clarification and settle matters quietly. He added that the actions of the military prosecution and the major general were also inappropriate, and that the military and the defense minister should have settled things behind closed doors. Maoz claimed that the Chief of Staff is acting against the political echelon, and called on the minister to hold a comprehensive clarification conversation with the Chief of Staff. On the political front, he said his party is forming a list and will compete to the end to save the right-wing bloc, and appealed to those disappointed with the coalition parties. He stressed that a Jewish state needs both Torah study and military service, and called on the military to establish additional brigades like the Hashmonaim Brigade to provide suitable conditions for Haredim.
