An indictment was filed against two young men from Bat Yam, aged 18 and 22, for throwing a fragmentation grenade at the Giapponeka restaurant in Kiryat Ono. The two arrived masked on electric bicycles, threw the grenade several times until it exploded and caused heavy damage. One of them is also charged with obstruction of justice. The prosecution is requesting to extend their detention until the end of proceedings.

The State Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against two young men from Bat Yam, aged 18 and 22, for throwing a fragmentation grenade at the Giapponeka restaurant in Kiryat Ono. According to the indictment, at around 01:00, the two traveled from Bat Yam to HaBosem Street in Tel Aviv, where they equipped themselves with electric bicycles of the Suron brand and a fragmentation grenade No. 26 Model B, capable of causing death upon detonation. At 02:05, they stopped in front of the restaurant, and for several minutes they repeatedly threw the grenade at the display window, intending to cause disfigurement, disability, or serious injury to those present. The grenade failed to explode on several attempts, until it finally hit a sign and exploded. As a result, the restaurant's window was damaged, with damages estimated at approximately 78,718 NIS, and the display windows of nearby shops were also damaged, with damages of approximately 51,330 NIS. One of the defendants is also charged with obstruction of justice, after he locked his mobile phone that was open in the police car. The two, despite their young age, have criminal records, were arrested, and the prosecution is requesting to extend their detention until the end of proceedings.
