They threw 50 kg of hashish into Jordan: indictment against smugglers from Kfar Misr

The prosecution filed an indictment against three residents of Kfar Misr for smuggling 50 kilograms of hashish into Jordan. The three were arrested following a joint investigation by the Northern District Police and the Shin Bet. According to the indictment, on July 15 they collected the drugs from a hiding point and threw them across the eastern border fence. The value of the smuggling is estimated at millions of shekels, and each was supposed to receive 100,000 shekels.

The prosecution today (Wednesday) filed an indictment with the Nazareth District Court against three residents of Kfar Misr for smuggling dozens of kilograms of hashish into Jordan and harming the sovereignty of the state. The defendants were arrested following a joint investigation by the Northern District Police and the General Security Service. According to the indictment filed by attorney Ohad Cohen, the three made contact with drug suppliers and received 50 kilograms of hashish. On July 15, they drove a van to a hiding point, collected ten packages containing the drugs, and continued driving toward the eastern border fence. When they reached the border, the defendants threw the drug packages across the fence, where parties from the Jordanian side were waiting to collect the goods. The investigation material shows that the value of the smuggled hashish is estimated at millions of shekels, and that each member of the cell was promised a payment of 100,000 shekels for the drug export. The three are accused of offenses of harming state sovereignty, exporting a dangerous drug, and drug possession. The police noted that the thwarting of the cell is part of the comprehensive effort of the security forces to stop smuggling routes of weapons and drugs along the country's borders.
