"They should compete in open primaries": The people Nissim Vaturi doesn't want to reserve spots for in Likud | Listen
MK Nissim Vaturi (Likud) calls on candidates like Eli Ohana and Moshe Kahlon to compete in open primaries without reserved spots. He expresses support for Gideon Sa'ar, who helped save the government from collapse, and notes that David Bitan may rank high. Vaturi himself intends to run on the national list.
Deputy Knesset Speaker MK Nissim Vaturi (Likud) was interviewed today (Tuesday) on Radio 103fm and addressed the upcoming primaries in the party. Vaturi called on figures such as Eli Ohana and Moshe Kahlon to compete in open primaries without reserved spots, arguing that they are worthy and will rank high on their own. He emphasized that the vote should be as democratic as possible. In contrast, he expressed reservations about reports of reserved spots for candidates from Religious Zionism in Likud, saying that whoever wants to vote for a religious-national party should vote for Smotrich. Vaturi praised Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, whom he described as having saved the government from collapse, and noted that he brings an additional range of opinions. He also estimated that MK David Bitan, despite his confrontation with Netanyahu, has a high chance of ranking high on the list due to activist support. Vaturi himself intends to run on the national list, believing that the public likes him and Tali Gottlieb.
