The body of Eldar Dayan, missing since July 25, was found this morning in an open area near Route 40. Police confirmed the identity of the body after completing the identification process. Attorney Sapir Perdo, representing the family, said the parents are 'completely shattered' and that the police will have to answer for their conduct. According to her, when the mother arrived at the police station and cried out that her son was missing, she was told that 'Eldar is 98% alive.' Perdo added that the body was found in a condition that did not allow immediate identification, and that Dayan may have collapsed, fallen, been attacked by animals, or been brutally murdered by his friends. Two of Dayan's friends, arrested on suspicion of involvement in his disappearance, remain in custody and are now suspected of murder. Central District Commander, Superintendent Amir Cohen, ordered the investigation into his disappearance to be transferred to the Central Unit of the Sharon District. From the investigation materials, it appears that the two are suspected of threatening Dayan with murder even before he disappeared. Tomorrow, a meeting is expected between the family and the district commander.
