Residents of the picturesque coastal village of Binibeca Vell on Menorca are tired of the chaos caused by the influx of tourists. The village's official Instagram page has posted videos and photos of guests entering private property without permission, climbing onto white houses, blocking narrow alleys, and posing at residents' doors. One video shows narrow stone streets packed with tourists, while another captures a traveler in an acrobatic pose between white walls. Community representatives stated: 'We don't want to drive tourists away. We want responsible tourists. Tourism is a blessing. What is not welcome is disrespect for the community, trespassing on private property, and damage to property.' Locals report that tourists stop in the middle of walkways for photo shoots and block the road. Signs asking for quiet are posted throughout the village. Binibeca Vell is a private residential complex built in 1964, attracting over 800,000 visitors per year. Due to the flow of people, restrictions have been introduced: entry is open from 10:00 to 22:00, and at other times residents block all 22 entrances with chains. Hiring private security is being considered. Homeowners' association president Oscar Monja stated that maintaining the houses in pristine condition costs about 100,000 euros per year.
