According to reports in Lebanon, a 30-day arrest warrant was issued against the businessman on suspicion of 'contact with the Israeli enemy and violating Lebanon's boycott law against Israel.' The photo sparked outrage on social media in Lebanon, and several lawyers filed a complaint. The attorney general ordered an investigation to determine if the photo is authentic. Sahnawi serves as chairman of the Lebanese bank SGBL and is known as a supporter of relations with Israel. Former envoy Morgan Ortagus noted that what he is doing is 'technically illegal in Lebanon.' The legal move comes as Israel is in talks with Lebanon.
