The Turkish occupation in Syria, and the video against Erdogan: "Is this the guy you'd want on your border?"
Israeli advocacy spokesperson Doron Spielman released a video presenting the Israeli strike in Syria as a move against Turkish entrenchment. He claimed Turkey holds 5% of Syrian territory compared to Israel's 0.1%, and that Erdogan called for Israel's destruction. Spielman emphasized Israel is not seeking escalation but will not allow a threat to its security.
Israeli advocacy spokesperson Doron Spielman released a video presenting the unusual Israeli strike on a base in Syria as a necessary move to thwart Turkish military entrenchment. In the video, Spielman claimed Turkey holds about 5% of Syrian territory, compared to about a tenth of a percent held by Israel in the south of the country. He emphasized that Turkey, which faces no threat, controls an area 50 times larger than Israel's. Spielman cited Turkish President Erdogan's calls for Israel's destruction, asking: "Is this the guy you'd want on your border?" According to him, Israel sent repeated warnings to Syria that were rejected, and the strike was intended to send a message. Alongside the firm message, Spielman stressed that Prime Minister Netanyahu welcomes a return to the previous status quo and is not seeking escalation. The video was released against the backdrop of an unusual American condemnation of the strike and Turkish claims that Israel is acting out of an election strategy.
