In an Instagram video, he claims he has been a victim of media persecution for 12 years, and that there was not a year when they did not try to 'frame him.' His lawyers also reject the dismissal claims.

Right-wing activist Yoav Eliasi ('The Shadow') broke his silence this morning (Sunday) and addressed reports of his 'dismissal' from the police by Commissioner Chief Superintendent Danny Levy. In a video posted on Instagram, he clarified: 'No one dismissed me; I froze my own service.' He claimed that for over a decade he has been a target of media persecution, and that there was not a single year in the last 12 years when they did not 'try to frame me for every crime imaginable.' Eliasi said that since 2014, when he stood with a flag at Habima Square facing protesters, the media became his enemy. He added that between 2014 and 2019 he barely had anything to eat, and his shows were canceled. He stressed that he never raised a hand against anyone, and recounted that in 2016 a bomb was planted in his car and exploded while he was inside with his son. He expressed hope to return to uniform, saying the October 7 massacre changed him. His lawyers, Ariel Atari and Yaniv Lankri, rejected the dismissal claims and stated that Eliasi serves as a commander with the rank of Chief Superintendent in the district standby unit of the Tel Aviv district. The reports of his dismissal came following an investigation by Haaretz, according to which Eliasi allegedly used his police connections to benefit a leisure complex in Tel Aviv.
