The Real Blow of the War: Israel Simply Doesn't Decide in the Middle East

Former MK Ofer Shelah criticized the government's handling of Gaza and Defense Minister Israel Katz over the controversy surrounding the head of Central Command. He said the structure in Gaza has no soldier to enforce it and no billions to rebuild it, and only a plan with Palestinian characteristics and international support can replace Hamas. On Iran, he said the dialogue between the US, Iran, and Gulf states is conducted without Israel, which is irrelevant to the regional balance of power.

In an interview with 103FM, former Knesset member Ofer Shelah attacked the government's handling of the Gaza Strip and also chose to attack Defense Minister Israel Katz over the storm surrounding the head of Central Command, Avi Bluth. Shelah said, "This structure in Gaza, which makes sense from Israel's perspective, has no soldier to enforce it and no billions to rebuild it," adding, "Immediately it becomes clear that it has no legs; immediately this government takes action to show it won't happen." He defined the plan as "reasonable" but stated, "There is no real solution for Gaza" and "The only thing that can truly replace Hamas is a plan with Palestinian characteristics and international support." On Iran, Shelah said a dialogue is underway between the United States, Iran, and the Gulf states that determine what happens, "and all this dialogue is conducted without Israel being part of it." He emphasized: "In the last three years, Israel has been moving around the Middle East and bombing things, but it is not at all relevant to the architecture and balance of power in the Middle East. This is the real big blow of the current war."
