The on-air nicknames and legal moves against Channel 14

The head of the Israel Bar Association, Attorney Amit Bachar, urgently appealed to the Attorney General and the State Attorney demanding a criminal investigation be opened against Channel 14, Yinon Magal, and Yotam Zemer. This follows the broadcast of the program 'The Patriots' after the dismissal of MK Simcha Rothman's defamation lawsuit against News 12, during which Judge Oren Silverman was called 'stupid', 'pure evil', 'part of the junta', and 'liar'. Bachar argues that these statements constitute incitement, insulting a public servant, and defamation, and an attempt to intimidate judges. Concurrently, opposition leader Yair Lapid sent pre-suit warning letters to Yitzhak Mirilashvili, Itamar Fleishman, and Daniel Cohen, after Fleishman called him on air a 'helper to Nazis' and on another occasion a 'Judeo-Nazi'. Lapid demands a filmed apology within 24 hours.
