The Venice International Film Festival announced a last-minute addition to its prestigious competition program: NAZA, a new documentary directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Shor. Abraham and Shor were two of the four directors of "No Other Land," which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2025. The film was produced by the British newspaper The Guardian and James Wilson (JW Films), with Oscar-winning director Jonathan Glazer serving as executive producer. Wilson and Glazer are the team behind the Oscar-winning film "The Zone of Interest." According to the production description, the film "was shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, and reveals in detail the systems behind the calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza by Israel." The filmmakers say the film is based on findings first published on the websites "Local Call" and "+972 Magazine" together with The Guardian between 2023 and 2025. The film's premiere at the festival will take place on September 10, in the presence of the directors, producers, Guardian journalists, and the official delegation.
