The news Netanyahu feared has arrived: The opposition continues to organize
Hadash, Ta'al, and Balad have agreed to run together in the 2026 elections, with Jabarín heading the list, Tibi in second place, and Abu Shahada in third. Ra'am will run separately. According to polls, the two Arab lists together could reach about 12 seats. The agreement reduces the risk of losing votes below the electoral threshold.
Hadash, Ta'al, and Balad have signed an agreement to run together in the 2026 elections, following lengthy negotiations focused mainly on the distribution of realistic slots on the list. According to the agreement, Yosef Jabarín (Hadash) will head the list, Ahmad Tibi (Ta'al) in second place, and Sami Abu Shahada (Balad) in third. Tibi will receive the chairmanship of the parliamentary faction. The agreement aims to prevent further fragmentation of the Arab vote, as happened in the 2022 elections, when Balad ran alone and did not pass the electoral threshold. Ra'am, led by Mansour Abbas, will run separately due to a dispute over the possibility of joining the coalition after the elections. According to polls, the unified list could receive about 9 seats, and Ra'am passes the electoral threshold separately. In certain scenarios, the two lists together could reach about 12 seats. The agreement also includes a clause regulating the possibility that Balad will be disqualified by the elections committee, in which case Hadash and Ta'al could continue the joint run without it.
