A 35-year-old Tel Aviv resident has been indicted for stealing three scooters across the city at different times, after a police investigation linked him to the cases. The indictment against him was filed yesterday, along with a request for his detention until the end of legal proceedings. According to the indictment, the first incident occurred on June 18, when the defendant stole a courier's scooter that was parked near a restaurant on Nahalat Yitzhak Street in Tel Aviv. Three days later, on June 21, he allegedly stole another scooter parked on the same street during the afternoon. The third incident occurred on August 14. According to police, the defendant was caught riding a Vespa scooter on Allenby Street, which had been stolen minutes earlier from the Gordon Pool plaza, near the beach. He was arrested and taken for questioning at the Lev Tel Aviv station. During the investigation, station officers gathered evidence that police say linked the suspect to the three theft cases. The scooters were located, and their owners were summoned to the station and received their property back. The suspect's detention was extended from time to time, and yesterday the Tel Aviv District Prosecution Unit filed an indictment charging him with three counts of scooter theft. A request was also filed to extend his detention until the end of proceedings.
