The District Court convicted Jason Ouda of aggravated murder of Yelena Greenberg, a 27-year-old from Rehovot, who was murdered in August 2022. The judges ruled that the murder was premeditated: two days before the murder, Ouda purchased a folding knife documented on security cameras, and at a gas station filled two one-and-a-half-liter bottles with gasoline. On the day of the murder, Ouda stabbed her multiple times in the neck, back, and hands, drove to an open field, poured the gasoline on her body but did not ignite it. His claim that it was a spontaneous murder was rejected, as were his false explanations regarding the purchase of the knife and filling the gasoline. The judges noted that Ouda acted calmly, concealed evidence (phones and computer), and gave contradictory versions. The motive: unrequited love and repeated rejection by the deceased. Her sister Nadia gave a heartbreaking statement about the loss. Sentencing is expected later, and the fixed penalty is life imprisonment.
