The IDF's new branch and the Dragon: the chief of staff's sharp message to Turkey

The Navy Commander said that Israel sees, monitors, and prepares for those who seek to change the balance of power in the Mediterranean, and emphasized that the naval arm is required to operate in the depths of the seas, overtly and covertly, to remove threats and open maritime routes. Chief of Staff Zamir referred to the multi-year "Hoshen" plan and said that the INS Dragon submarine, the first of its kind, is already on its way to Israel, followed by missile ships of the Reshef class. In another dramatic announcement, the chief of staff announced the establishment of a new IDF branch for unmanned systems and artificial intelligence, which he called a "historic reorganization," to be inaugurated on the upcoming holiday of Hanukkah. The branch will include maritime, land, and aerial robotic capabilities, and will work alongside manned forces or on independent missions. The chief of staff issued a warning to Iran and the entire axis, saying that the IDF achieved a historic military victory, but the threats have not disappeared. He also hinted at the political tension in Israel and called for keeping the IDF as a state and unified army.
