The Houthi barrage targeting the Khamis Mushait air force base and nearby oil infrastructure injured 73 people. In response, Saudi fighter jets struck 54 targets in Yemen within 12 hours. Pakistani officials emphasized that the alliance with Saudi Arabia is purely defensive, and that Pakistani forces will assist with air defense or technical support, but will not participate in combat operations in Yemen. Military representatives from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey met in Riyadh to coordinate positions. Iran denies controlling the Houthis, but Iranian sources admitted that Tehran encouraged the escalation, provided weapons and funding, and sent Revolutionary Guard commanders to Yemen. Iranian pressure is pushing Sunni countries toward closer cooperation, while the US continues its economic blockade on Iran.
