The house, built in 1940 by the president's father, contractor Fred Trump, was used by Donald Trump only until the age of four. For years, the structure stood abandoned and suffered from severe neglect, water damage, mold, and an infestation of stray cats. Local developer Tommy Lin purchased the dilapidated property last year for a low price of $835,000. He invested about half a million dollars in an eight-month renovation, transforming the five bedrooms and bathrooms into a luxury complex with hardwood floors, a chef's kitchen, and modern design. The total investment stood at approximately $1.33 million, and the sale yielded a net profit of about $600,000. Previously, in 2017, the house was purchased by investors for over $2 million and rented to tourists with cardboard cutouts of Trump. In 2019, they tried to sell it for nearly $3 million without success, until a burst pipe led to the destruction of the structure. Now, the buyer remains anonymous.
