The Fabricated Alibi: Lawyer Arrested on Suspicion of Inducing Minors to Give False Testimony

A lawyer and four relatives of a defendant in security offenses were arrested on suspicion of inducing minors to give false testimony. This morning, officers of the Central District's YMR (Central Unit) arrested a lawyer in her 30s and four family members of a defendant in serious security offenses, on suspicion of inducing minors to give false testimony. According to the suspicion, the lawyer, who represents a defendant indicted in January 2026 for an act of terrorism involving shooting, arson, and weapons manufacturing in Ramla, approached YMR Central investigators in May and claimed she had evidence that could exonerate her client. The materials were transferred for review by the State Prosecutor's Office, but police became suspicious about their origin and how they were obtained. In a covert investigation, it emerged that the lawyer, along with others, approached minors and their parents in an attempt to get them to give false testimonies stating that the defendant was with them at the time of the offenses, thereby creating an alibi for him. Those involved tried to persuade the minors through offers of money, pressure, and threats. Tomorrow, the police are expected to bring the suspects to a hearing at the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court, where they will request an extension of their detention.
